On our way to Maui now, sitting in row 29 having our complimentary non alcoholic drink and small snack plus our supplies from noni..
Our last day in SSF was busy and ended with another great home-cooked dinner at Kristas. Our dinners with family have been all great and we are so lucky that we can all cook. Noni still likes to make her contribution. She had bought meat to make stew and polenta and this was the main course last night. Here and I drove up to Krista’s early with the polenta pot with the right amount of water already in it and the measured out polenta in a measuring cup so this could be cooked there rather than at non’s and then carried up there hot. But the stew was done at noni’s and this we had to bring up there hot. Getting these pots full of something or other down the stairs is getting really tough. So that is a big challenge at the moment as Noni still wants to cook things.
During the day Gramps brought us down to Burlingame to make one more small purchase at the apple store and then we met linda and then mike and Noah for a monster sandwich at one of Uncle Mikes old haunts from his days with Hillsborough City Services. Luckily Dad was willing to go for a shared one.
One the way home Linda dropped us off at SEES and the pharmacy to print out some of the photos we have been taking during the trip. We made 4 small albums and left 3 behind. The one we kept is to share photos of our aussie family with J&D in Hawaii. The other 3 albums were some of the aussie tribe but then heaps of the shots we have been taking and you have all seen on the blog. Of course there are great photos to take every day and I always just love catching those moments.
Also last night I finally cooked something to add to dinner, my mushroom pasta that I have been making with 3 kinds of mushrooms and only a small bit of pasta.
We did not manage to get the musical instruments out last night as there was a game on that was a bit of a nail biter. But Noah did sing a song for everyone spontaneously, all by himself, “Take me out to the ball game”. He is a musical little guy and does not miss a note. Little Luca was busy chasing around Sammie, (the new “Boomah”), and trying to catch his tail.
Between last night and this morning we managed to get everything into our bags and uncle mike came by to bring us to the airport. Noni got up early to make sure she said all iof her prayers plus the extra ones to keep us safe. She wanted us to finish off the last 2 tamales for breakfast which we did. Gramps was still snoozing so I had to go in and wake him up to say good bye but I got a great last photo of noni and me in the front porch.
By the way Uncle Mike DID light off his bunger on 4th of July, in their backyard! It was buring a hole in his pocket!
will try for some pics now then more from maui next
