So it is Wednesday here now and dad is going off to play golf with Mario shortly. We are having our morning coffee at our fav Starbucks and then dad will walk over to the Bart station and I will stay here and finish my morning communications.
Yesterday was a big day. Back at non is after our walk we did some small jobs, replacing the stuff under the sink following the plumbers visit, some tidy up work on the can cupboard downstairs and then sorting a box of small stuff. Non is so interested in small gadgets thT do interesting things or Are made of interesting materials. She ALS keeps things thT she knows will be interesting to other people. Around lunchtime non and I went down to the trash and treasure sale thT was on at the senior centre and she only bought 4 very small items. The philipino lady who was running it tried to sell mom a crystal dish. Mom said to her, actually I gave that to you, it used to be mine.
Gramps goes to his exercise class on Tuesday's so once he returned we went down to the up market Chinese restUrant on grand avenue for lunch. They have had a $25 voucher for this place for a long time and just did not want to go in there on their own as the restUrant is called a Seafood rEstaurnt and they did not want to order something and get fish.
We successfully negotiated the menu and found at least one dish thT they would happily order again if they end up there. Non is fVourite things was watching the kitchen staff come out and have their lunch in the restAurAnt. she had a perfect view of their table but would have liked to get closer and see what they were eating. I ordered dumplings but their were a poor imitation of kami shanghai or mother chus.
Once home we just got ourselves organized for the giants game. Dad and I went in with uncle mike and one of his workmates Sam as they had to be there early. We got a chance to walk all around the ball park area and then be back in front to meet Linda and krista who came in by train.
The giants have actually lost every game since we arrived and last night was no exception, their 5th loss in a row, and as they were in first place this has sent shock waves through the bay area. There are murmurings that it is us and last night Linda suggested that maybe dad should go up to Spokane straight away.
But although the game was sad, the seats were great and the vibe at the park is superb. Since the giants won the "world series" last year, all the games are sold out and there is a lot of spirit, very much in the Aussie rules style, and everyone goes decked out, all ages, and lots of shared fun. They have lots of fun things they do with the cameras and one is KissCam. They focus in on around 10-12couples and then they are supposed to kiss. Usually they do not realize it for a few seconds so you get to see their reaction and or confusion if for some reason they do not want to kiss one another. Auntie lindy was sitting between me and dad and she told dad if it came on them he would have to lean over. But I think dad had other plans so it is lucky the camera did not come our way.
We got some good photos of uncle mike on the field doing his thing and also had a few visits from Greg who is uncle mikes boss and kristas new husband. He is behind our good seats as he has a set of seats in row 7 which he uses or shares with others if he is working. You will see him in one of the photos and for sure krista is in a better place all around, even though Ryan is still around and casts a shadow on her life. So things will get better and better.
After the game we retired to the public bar for a drink while we waited for our chauffeurs to finish their after game duties.
Beware the garlic fries at PAC bell park! We pigged out on these at the Giants game last night and they are still with me, even after half a can of eclipse mints!
