Hola from me.
Yesterday was another hot day. Can't believe that so city is actually warm....climate change
so after our walk we hung out until Mike and Lindy picked us up for our Costco experience described previously with the elephant bar lunch.
So then it was hang out with alight noni meal...chicken, roasted, with carrots and salad. then we went to the so city historical society to see a movie about Bay Meadows racetrack...a doco..which was made because they closed it in 2008 and the society wanted to preserve some of it's history. ONE OF THE STORIES concerned a jockey who was pronounced dead and then got revived at the hospital a la pulp fiction...and headed back to the track because he needed to win a special jockeys prize. Gramps and noni not only knew him, but gramps used to take out his sister before he started taking non out. She was there and they are all friends now even though non got gramps instead of Alberta.
the Ramos and martinelli families are like the Kennedys in so city, everybody knows them and wants to talk with the....naturally we were the last to leave the city hall, where the film was screened since they were all socializing so long....
Mom here..I hope you all enjoying the efforts of my trainee blogger. He is slowly getting the knack of the keyboard, but not without a few curses when his fingers hit the wrong key and everything disappears.
A bit more on the historical society last night. This is something that non and gramps go to faithfully, they meet every other month and they always have a speaker or some sort of cultural item. Last time I was here I went with them to see the basque dancers. Most of the people in non and gramps circle go and os it is fun to see some of those people. Last night it was a much bigger and more diverse crowd because of the bay meadows dock.
Bay meadows had a place on our lives because auntie Rosie and uncle bill had an interest in horses. Uncle bills brother was a jockey in. San Diego and they were all keen on the races. As small children we were there frequently and I even remember auntie Rosie and uncle bill in the winners circle with a big horseshoe of roses around the winning horse. In more recent years the martinellis have used bay meadows for kids birthday events and family gatherings at the races.
Having Alberta neves at the doco last night was a hoot. Yes gramps was going out with her and that is where he met mom as she was albertas best friend. He always like to say how lucky he was thT he switched to mom, says it was the best decision he ever made. Alberta will be in one of the photos on the blog. She used to be taller than mom but last night she was noticing that mom was taller than her now, by a good 5 inches. And she was wearing small heels. She is still a sparky little lady and it. Was great fun to see her.
We are off to luckys now to buy dads Bart ticket for his trip to the city tomorrow to be picked upby mariofor golf.
Starbucks is very mellow this morning with bob marley doing his thing..all the favorites, Josh you would be in your element.
