It is now early in theafternoon and we've just returned from being picked up by Mike and Lindy for the "costco experience."Costco was pretty special and we ended up getting a few "bargains". Christine realized that she didn't have a swimsuit for Hawaii and ended up getting a corker very reasonably priced......$20.
I was also coerced into buying a Ukeulele complete with tuner, travel bag, instruction booklet...veneered with koa wood and with abalone trim.....another "cool deal".
Added bonus was when Lindy and Mike came by to pick us up, Gramps sprung for lunch for the 4 of us and slipped Lindy some cash. After considerable discussion, we ended up going to the "elephant bar" for lunch which was outstanding. three of us said " ...if anyone wants a taste of what I ordered, help yourself.." Uncle Mike didn't.
as I sit here, the plumber is here and gramps is watching him put the snake into the kitchen sink. We had a minor setback in the kitchen this morning when the kitchen sink drain plugged up. They have a garbage disposal in the sink and it was sending up beautiful black/grey water. The plunger wouldn't do the job despite vigourous "flushing" so time to call the plumber.
Mike and Lindy are off now and we'll chill till dinner and then a trip to the so city historical night.
Tomorrow night we hit the Giant's game with great seats provided by Krista's husband, Greg, who is the head groundsman at giants stadium. We'll probably get down on the field after the game for a little tour. If you happen to see the Giants on t v at home, look for us .
Wednesday is my game of golf with Mario at the Meadowsclub course, of which he is a member ( honourary since he is a jesuit )
I'm pretty sure that we're meeting with the santa clara crowd on Thursday night.....so far, we've walked every morning (to starbucks ) and haven't really pigged out foodwise.....yet.
We're still in the danger area. Food is all around.....oh oh
Also managed to send off a birhthday postcard for Ken Jones whose b day is this coming week.
It is also very hot here in so city. Hope you people back home aren't getting too rained out. We're sitting around in tees and shorts .....no shoes....too hot.
