20 june

Back at Starbucks on Monday morning and dad has just delivered my Short double shot nonfat no whip mocha. We CAN do Starbucks!!dad wanted to know if he could have MY whip in his coffee.
We ar launching off for our morning walks around 6 and non and gramps are still sleeping. This is not unusual for gramps but noni is not getting up as early as she used to. But she still gets up and does her prayers first.
Yesterday was fathers day here and dad and I went looking for donuts to bring home for gramps but struck out. The only thing we could find open was the Mexican bakery so we bought a few selections with some advice from other shoppers but these did not really cut it as doughnuts. So we offered to cook sausage and eggs for gramps before he went off to church. Gramps was up for it so we had a great little breakfast, made extra special be one of dads superb batch of fried potatoes. He did them in little chunks and cooked them really crispy, definitely the star of the breakfast.
In the afternoon we went to martinellis for a fathers day gathering. Dad got a present too which you will see him wearing in one of the photos.Dinner was a two chefs affair with noni supplying the pasta sauce and auntie Linda managing the rest. Nonissue "gravy" as she calls it was a particularly good batch and everyone was having small samples on bread, which of course was our favorite thing when we were little. But not just anyone gets one of these samples, so if you get offered one you are in!

We got to see Tony last night. He had been on a short trip to Tahoe with a prospective new girl but she wrecked her chances by talking too much on the way home says Tony. Aunt Virginia and even auntie lindy were suggesting cute girls to him but he was waving them away.

Today non and gramps have things on, nonissue sewing group and gramps card group, and then a movie fund raiser tonight at the historical society. A normal Monday for them. That's all from me for today.

My turn now.
We havent mentioned yesterday's grand finale. On our way through Sausalito, lindy wanted to show us ft. Baker, where mike had done his army reserves. When we got there we walked into the rockstars and bombshells music festival a charity event for an organization called guitars not guns.....apparently for foster kids to get involved in music. It was back to the 60s when we paid our five bucks and went in. People walking around in costume...a la Jerry Garcia, girls in scanty butterfly costumes, various " couples" and at least one transvestite who was looking uncle mike over bigtime. It was a band festival with new bands coming on about every 20 minutes...all loud rock including some covers.
We stayed for about 2 hours and it was a hoot. Even had a few dances.
